The course is based around a series of 6 Modules. Each Module will cover a different aspect of accountancy & business related work experience and will be professionally supervised by Mr Shabir. Some aspects of the course can be done on-line from home whilst others involve attending the offices in Islamabad.
Set out below is a summary of the 6 Modules:
Module 1: Business Communication Skills
- Business letter writing (clients, 3rd parties)
- Drafting cash-flow statements & budgets as part of business plan
- Presentation issues
Module 2: UK Business Registration Issues
- Registration of sole trader & partnership businesses in UK
- Registration of limited companies in UK
- Cost issues associated with above
- Applying for VAT & PAYE registration.
- Other matters including name protection
- Dealing with live client registrations
Module 3: The Practical Aspects of Accounts Production
- Practical issues concerning end-of-year journals
- Wrap-up issues concerning Sole traders, Partnerships
- Wrap-up issues concerning Limited Companies (eg overdrawn directors accounts)
- Money laundering issues
Module 4: The Practical Aspects of UK VAT
- An overview of the administrative nature of VAT
- Detailed look at key aspects of output VAT
- Detailed look at key aspects of input VAT
- Problem areas (property, international transactions)
- Preparing live VAT return for UK business clients
Module 5: The Practical Aspects of Income & Corporation Tax in the UK
- Notification of liability to HMRC
- Summary of key components of tax computation
- Topical tax investigation matters
- Money laundering issues
Module 6: The Practical Aspects of Capital Gains Tax in the UK.
- Notification of liability to HMRC
- Summary of key components of capital gains tax computation
- Property related matters (commercial vs residential)
Timing & Dates
The training modules shall commence during October 2010. The registration process shall commence Monday 21 June 2010.
Appraisal & Certification
Admission to the course is subject to interview with Mr Shabir. Interviews shall take place monthly in Islamabad.
All students receive a certificate of achievement from the UK.
Those students demonstrating outstanding acumen will be considered for an employment training contract with Mayfield Chartered Accountants in UK.
